Hard No Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Overview
Hard No ("the App") is provided by Vaipo UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("Vaipo", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
The short version: Hard No does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers. There is no account, no backend, and no networking. Everything the App knows about you stays on your device.
Our general Privacy Policy also applies to your use of Vaipo's services generally, but where it conflicts with this document for anything Hard No-specific, this document controls.
No Account, No Backend, No Data Collection
Hard No works entirely offline. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no server we operate that receives your data. The App does not use networking, analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or location tracking.
Your app selections, blocking sessions, and settings are stored locally on your device only, in the App's private storage and a shared App Group container used by its Screen Time extensions. We never receive or see any of it.
We Cannot See Which Apps You Block
This is worth spelling out, because it surprises people.
Hard No blocks apps using Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity). When you choose apps in Apple's picker, iOS hands the App an opaque token for each selection — not a name, not a bundle identifier, just a sealed reference that only iOS can interpret.
Hard No stores those tokens on your device and passes them back to iOS to apply the block. It cannot decode them, does not log them, and never transmits them. Even we cannot determine which apps you chose to block.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or other contact details
- Location or GPS data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports
- Which apps you block, or when
- Your session history, durations, or settings
Because we never receive or store your data, we cannot access, back up, recover, or transfer it. Deleting the App, or resetting its data, permanently removes your selections and settings from your device.
Screen Time Authorization
Before Hard No can block anything, you grant it Family Controls (Screen Time) authorization. That permission is managed by iOS and granted to the App on your device — it does not give Vaipo any access to your Screen Time data, your usage statistics, or your device. We receive nothing as a result of you granting it.
You can withdraw that authorization at any time in your device's settings. Doing so stops the App from being able to block apps.
Purchases
Hard No Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription processed by Apple through StoreKit. Payment is charged to your Apple ID, and your entitlement is tied to your Apple ID. We do not process payments ourselves and never see your payment details — no card numbers, no billing address, no name. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
The only third party involved in your use of the App is Apple, which distributes the App and processes subscriptions. We do not integrate any advertising, analytics, attribution, or tracking services. We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have your data to share.
Children's Privacy
Hard No is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the App collects no personal data, it does not knowingly collect information from children.
Hard No requests Family Controls authorization for individual use on your own device. It is not a parental-control product and does not provide remote monitoring or management of another person's device.
Your Rights
Data-protection laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grant rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Because Hard No stores everything solely on your device and we hold none of it, you already have full and direct control: you can change your settings or delete the App at any time. There is no data held by us to request or erase.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
