Nomad Terms of Service

Welcome to Nomad
Nomad — Day Tracker ("Nomad", "the App") is provided by Vaipo UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("Vaipo", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Nomad, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE APP.
These terms are specific to Nomad. Our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to your use of Vaipo's services generally, but where they conflict with this document for anything Nomad-specific, this document controls.
Not Legal or Immigration Advice
Nomad estimates your Schengen 90/180-day usage and per-country day counts based on the trips you enter. These estimates are for planning purposes only and do not constitute legal, tax, or immigration advice. Border officials, tax authorities, and immigration rules have the final say, and rules can change without notice. Always confirm your specific situation with official sources or a qualified immigration or tax professional before making travel, residency, or visa decisions. We are not liable for any consequence of relying solely on the App's calculations.
No Account, No Backend, No Data Collection
Nomad is offline-first: there is no account to create, no sign-in, and no backend server. The App does not use networking, analytics, or location tracking. All the trips, thresholds, and settings you enter are stored locally on your device only.
Because we never receive or store your data, we cannot back it up, recover it, or transfer it if you lose or replace your device. Losing your device, deleting the App, or resetting its data will permanently delete your trips and settings. Use the CSV export feature in Settings to keep your own backup. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how the App handles data.
License to Use the App
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Nomad on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, sell, or lease the App or any part of it, except as permitted by applicable law.
Free Tier and Nomad Pro
Nomad's core Schengen tracking and Planner are free to use, with a limit of 10 trips logged at a time. Nomad Pro is an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase — not a subscription — that unlocks:
- Unlimited trips
- Custom per-country day limits
- CSV export of your trip history
Purchases
All purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and are subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at the time of purchase. Because Nomad Pro is a one-time purchase, there is nothing to cancel or renew.
We do not process payments ourselves, do not see your payment details, and do not handle refunds directly — refund requests must be made to Apple through your App Store purchase history. Your Nomad Pro entitlement is tied to your Apple ID; if you reinstall the App or use it on another device signed into the same Apple ID, you can restore your purchase from the paywall screen ("Restore purchases") at no additional cost.
Your Content
Your trips, notes, and country limits are your content. Since everything stays on your device, we have no access to it and make no use of it. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your own backups (via CSV export).
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, and the underlying rules engine, is owned by Vaipo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Using the App does not grant you any ownership rights in it.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the App — for example, by attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or interfere with its normal operation, or by using it in a way that violates applicable law.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its calculations will be accurate in every circumstance.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vaipo and its suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App — including any travel, visa, residency, or tax decisions made in reliance on the App. Because Nomad stores data only on your device, we cannot recover lost data and accept no liability for such loss. Your use of the App is at your own risk.
Changes to the App or These Terms
We may update the App or these Terms from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or changes to the underlying Schengen and country-limit rules. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
Termination
You may stop using Nomad at any time by deleting the App from your device, which also deletes all locally stored data. We may discontinue or modify the App at our discretion, though we will make reasonable efforts to give notice of any change that materially affects your use of it.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
